Electrical Engineers

 

 

 

Job Description:

Electrical Engineers are responsible to handle many sophisticated electrical equipments installed in a war ship like weapons system, radio communications systems etc that are usually computer aided in their function. Some of this equipment includes power generating, controlling, and transmission devices used by electric utilities; electric motors, machinery controls, lighting, in radar and navigation systems.  To ensure serviceability and operational efficacy of all such equipments and systems is the responsibility of the Electrical Engineers.

 

How To Join:

A)             Through National Defence Academy (NDA)

(i)       Type of Entry                         -    NDA (Cadet Entry)

(ii)      Mode of selection                   -    Through Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and getting through Naval Selection Board.

(iii)     Advertisement Schedule           -    Advertised in all National Leading Newspapers/Employment News in Apr/May and Sep/Oct every year.

(iv)     Status Awarded                      -    Sub Lieutenant in Navy.

         

B)             Through National Defence Academy (NDA (Tech))

(i)       Type of Entry                         -    NDA (Tech Cadet)

(ii)      Mode of selection                   -    Through Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and getting through Naval Selection Board.

(iii)     Advertisement Schedule           -    Advertised in all National Leading Newspapers/Employment News in Apr/May and Sep/Oct every year.

(iv)     Status Awarded                      -    Sub Lieutenant in Navy.

 

C)             Graduate Entry/Direct Entry

(i)       Type of Entry                         -    CDSE

(ii)      Mode of                                -    Through Combined Defence Services Examination selection (CDSE) and getting through Naval Selection Board.

 (iii)     Advertisement Schedule           -    Advertised in all National Leading Newspapers/Employment News in Apr/May and Sep/Oct every year.

 (iv)    Status Awarded                      -    Sub Lieutenant in Navy.

 

D)             Short Service Commission (SSC)

(i)       Type of Entry                         -    CDSE

(ii)      Mode of selection                   -    Direct Naval Selection Board’s interview.

(iii)     Advertisement Schedule           -    Advertised in all National Leading Newspapers/Employment News in Apr/May and Sep/Oct every year.

 (iv)    Status Awarded                      -    Sub Lieutenant in Navy.

 

Qualification:

A)             Through National Defence Academy (NDA)

(i)       Age                                      -    Between 16½ and 19 years

(ii)      Academics                             -    10+2 or equivalent with Physics & Maths

 

B)             Through National Defence Academy (NDA (Tech))

(i)       Age                                      -    Between 16½ and 19 years

(ii)      Academics                             -    10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry & Maths (minimum 70% marks in aggregate of PCM, minimum 50% marks in English either in 10th or 12th class)

 

C)             Graduate Entry/Direct Entry

(i)       Age                                      -    Between 19½ and 25 years

(ii)      Academics                             -    Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Avionics/Computer/ Telecommunication Engg. or any other qualification recognized by the Institution of Engineers (India) or Telecommunication Engineers or (India) as equivalent to a degree course.

 

D)             Short Service Commission (SSC)

(i)       Age                                      -    Between 19½ and 25 years

(ii)      Academics                             -    Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Avionics/Computer/ Telecommunication Engg. or any other qualification recognized by the Institution of Engineers (India) or Telecommunication Engineers or (India) as equivalent to a degree course.

Remuneration:

Starting Salary Rs. 8,250, which reaches Rs. 10,050 within 6/7 years of service. (excluding other allowances).
