Job Description:
Marine Engineers are responsible to keep engineering
equipment and propulsion systems of Warships and Submarines serviceable. The
officers have to ensure serviceability and preparedness of the vessels at all
times for war or any other eventuality.

(ii) Mode of selection - Through Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and getting
through Naval Selection Board.

(iv) Status Awarded - Sub Lieutenant in Navy.
B)
Graduate Entry
(i) Type of Entry - Cadet Entry (NDA)
(ii) Mode of selection - Through Combined Defence Services Examination (CDSE) and getting
through Naval Selection Board.
(iii) Advertisement

Newspapers/Employment News in Apr/May and Sep/Oct every year.
(iv) Status Awarded - Sub Lieutenant in Navy
Qualification:
A)
Through National Defence Academy (NDA)
(i) Qualifications - Cadet Entry - 10+2 with Mathematics, Physics.
10+2
(Tech) - 10+2 with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with 70% aggregate.
(ii) Age - 16½ to 19 years.
B)
Graduate Entry
(i) Qualifications - Degree in Marine/ Mechanical/ Aeronautical/ Control/ Metallurgy/
Production/ Telecommunication/ Electronics/ Electrical/ Avionics/ Computer/
Software Engineering.
(ii) Age - 19 ½ to 25 years.

Remuneration:
Starting Salary Rs. 8,250, which reaches Rs. 10,050 within
6/7 years of service. (excluding other allowances).
