Job Description:
Dieticians assess clients’ or patients’ dietary needs and
develop and implement nutritional programs accordingly. They work on special
diet required by people in different circumstances like working out a diet for
a sportsperson, which would enhance stamina and performance. For an elderly and
a sick person the suitable diet would be one which is easily digestible and
likewise. Some dieticians specialize in management of overweight people or
diabetic patients etc. They are also involved in large scale meal planning and
supervision of the preparation process in canteens, schools, hospitals etc.
Educational Qualification:
Desirable qualification is BSc in Home Science with
postgraduate diploma in dietetics or public health nutrition. Also see
