Job Description:
Assistant Commandants/Company Commanders who are recruited
directly are given rigorous training in the respective police academies. They
are taught various skills like shooting, driving, controlling riots,
mountaineering etc. After successful completion of the training these officers
are put on ‘general duty’, which apart from normal field duties also involves
administrative responsibilities. Managerial and administrative responsibilities
increase with seniority and promotions.
Educational Qualification:
A graduate degree in any subject. One also has to
successfully qualify the physical tests after the written test and interview.

Opening:
Prospects for direct recruit officers in all the three
forces are more or less similar. Promotion to the rank of Commandant is almost
assured, beyond that it is on the basis of selection.
Remuneration:
Starting salary is Rs. 7,500 per month (excluding other
allowances)
