Description:
Freight
Forwarders are responsible for the safe transportation of freight from one
destination to another by ship or by road or railways from a particular
destination to the ports from where the containers are loaded on to the ships.
They function as a linkage between the client and the shipping company. They
are also responsible for documentation such as bills of landings, import and
export licenses, specialized packaging and warehousing and other such
formalities.
Educational
Qualification:
Graduates preferably
with diploma in Shipping.
Opening:
With the
ever–increasing volumes in International Trade, there is no dearth of
opportunities in the Shipping Industry within the country as well as abroad.
There are hundreds of shipping companies in all the major trading centres of
the country as well as abroad. Government organisations such as the Shipping
Corporation of India also provide job opportunities in this area.
Remuneration:
Starting salary
is Rs. 5,500 per month (excluding other allowances)
