Introduction

What is counseling?

Counseling is a way for people who are having problems that they can’t handle, control, or just don’t know how to deal with, to find help from a trained professional.  There are many kinds of counseling such as career counseling or debt counseling.

What is the difference between counseling and therapy?

Counseling and therapy are used interchangeably however they are not the same.

A Counselor will listen to the problem and ask questions to get a deeper level of what is going on. A therapist will on the other hand explore with you different ways that you can change your thinking, or teach you skills so you can correct this concern on your own.

Different types of therapy include physical therapy or gene therapy.

How can it help you?

In the options section, counseling is dealt with in depth.

Topics such as stress, personality development, initiative, intelligence concentration, time management, creativity, improving the will, effective learning, career planning, setting your goals, improving memory, and I.Q. Other topics are coping with exam stress, facing reality, set your own house in order, road to success, power of mind, spiritual quotient and emotional content, all looked into in depth. Counseling and therapy can help alleviate emotional pain and suffering. It teaches you new skills with which you can successfully deal with a problem. It can help increase your self-esteem. Successful counseling feels like something has changed, something is different. You feel more hopeful and self –confident. You notice that you are having different results from actions that in the past would not have gone so well. You will feel done. Most of your fears, concerns and anxiety will have dissipated. You will have learnt coping skills to deal with any issues that may persist. We continually stress to our users that unless they take what they learned and put it into practice in the outside world, counseling will do them no good.
